Intus Ecclesiam nulla salus?

In Vintage Church Mark Driscoll provides this example of modern-postmodern individualism run rampant:

One well-known international missiologist told me that his friends stopped going to church and instead water-ski together every Sunday, and he told them that was fine because being together in the boat was a kingdom activity and therefore qualified as church.
